A Checklist for Narcissism

Do you spend a lot of time thinking about yourself?

Do you spend a lot of time worrying how others perceive you?

Do you wish not to be judged for your actions and thoughts?

Do you look down upon humanity and consider yourself much better than average, even though others think of you as no better, or even worse?

Do you regard others as fully responsible for the hurt or pain they feel in their interactions with you?

Do you have a significantly tangible secret persona whose deeds and thoughts you will never tell anybody?

Do you feel that though in some "socially conditioned", "biological", "tangible" ways you are inferior to others, your inner glory compensates for it all?

Unless a narcissist is completely honest with himself, he won't answer affirmatively to most of the questions in the checklist. It may not even be about honesty but that he himself is not aware of him being a narcissist.

"Do you spend a lot of time thinking about yourself?"

Yes.

"Do you spend a lot of time worrying how others perceive you?"

Not a lot of time worrying about, but considering their condition and mine. Commom sense its enough.

"Do you wish not to be judged for your actions and thoughts?"

Don´t matter. All I want is to be happy and harmless with the fellows around, in this moment, here now.

"Do you look down upon humanity and consider yourself much better than average, even though others think of you as no better, or even worse?"

No. The quality of humankind's endeavors begin and end with the quality of my - and yours - endeavors.

"Do you regard others as fully responsible for the hurt or pain they feel in their interactions with you?"

If was resulted by my fault or mistake, I´m ready to ask for apologyze to avoid new harms.

"Do you have a significantly tangible secret persona whose deeds and thoughts you will never tell anybody?"

Yes.

"Do you feel that though in some "socially conditioned", "biological", "tangible" ways you are inferior to others, your inner glory compensates for it all?"

No.

Q How are you?

A How am I? I am narcissistic. How are you?

Q How am I? I am narcissistic too. Good! shall we party?

A Yes! How bout the other buddies? The J Krishs, Jaggis, SriSris, Nityanandas,Richards.... Lets invite them too!!!

Q Yes of course they are invited. But where shall we party?

A In the hall of mirrors of course!!!

A sadhak seeks to go beyond the "I" by asking "Who am I".
Why waste so much time worrying if you or anyone else is narcissistic? What is the point of this "How am I" exercise?
